From The Athletic:

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has entered the NBA‘s health and safety protocols, sources tell The Athletic. He will miss Monday’s game against the New York Knicks, a planned day of rest for Embiid, but will also likely miss several games after, per sources.

When asked ahead of Monday’s game how Embiid was feeling, coach Doc Rivers said, “Not doing great. Struggling with it, like Tobias.”

The Sixers have been without Tobias Harris for the last week after the forward entered protocols on Nov. 1 following a positive COVID-19 test. In the six games he’s played this year, Harris has been the Sixers’ second-leading scorer with 19.8 points, while also averaging nine rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Matisse Thybulle and Isaiah Joe are also in protocols for Philadelphia.

Embiid has played in nine of the team’s 10 games this season as the Sixers lead the Eastern Conference with an 8-2 record. The big man is averaging 21.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and four assists per game this season.
